Environmental and quality management systems
In December of 1997, MHS obtained ISO9001 (quality management system) certification. The following year, in November of 1998, it obtained ISO14001 (environmental management system) certification. We continue to revamp our systems every year.
Going forward, MHS will continue developing architectural designs that take the environment into consideration and maintain and improve the quality of edifices as we meet the diverse needs of clients.

Environmental and quality policy
- 1.By clearly defining design requirements, performing a design review and inspection, and following up with valid checks thereafter, we provide goods and services that meet clients’ requirements.

Compliance initiatives
A compliant design firm
Founder Gunpei Matsuda would tell his employees: “Before you seek to be good architects, you must be men of character — you must be gentlemen.” He expected members of the firm to engage in design through a strong ethical framework. Since its founding in 1931, the firm has taken these admonitions to heart.
Seeking to codify that ethos into a code of conduct, we created a Compliance Manual in December 2001 that is used to train all personnel in ethical behavior and legal compliance.
